Welcome Tween Ministry to DRF!
Tweener – Noun
A person or thing considered to be in between two other recognized categories or types.
Example: A student who is not old enough to be considered a teenager and not young enough to be considered a small child.
We offer “Tween”-specific events about once a quarter. During these events, we not only have fun but also dig into God’s Word.
We have weekly classes for our Tweens. During these classes, we are working to build community and relationships within their own classroom. We hope that these lessons will help root the next generation’s identity in Christ and will teach them who they are in Him.
Check Out What we are Learning about this Month

This August, we’re taking a closer look at a truth every student needs to hear: “I Am Designed for a Purpose.” Purpose is a word that can hold a lot of weight for today’s students. They are constantly trying to figure out who they are and what sets them apart from the rest. And at the end of the day, students might know that God made them or know that He loves them, but what are they supposed to do with that?
With the help of our theme, Forward, your students will hear that a life with Jesus doesn’t just sit still. Each week will build on the idea that following Jesus moves us forward—helping us grow in confidence, character, and purpose. Jesus came to show us the way to real life, and as students learn to trust Him, they’ll discover that His words are reliable, His example is worth following, and His love gives us lasting direction.
We hope that students will begin to see themselves through His eyes, embrace their identity as God’s children, and take bold steps forward into the life He created them to live. We’re praying that through these sessions, students will grow in confidence—not in themselves, but in the God who designed them on purpose and for a purpose.
- Aug. 2nd – Promotion Sunday Fun
- We will be outside for a portion of this day
- Aug. 9th – What if I’m not actually the main character in my own story?
- Looking at Matthew 6:1-4 Jesus teaches us that the greatest impact often comes from quiet acts of love and humility—when no one’s watching.
- Aug. 16th – What if I’m anxious about the future?
- In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus reminded His followers that they don’t have to live in constant worry. Their father already knows what they need.
- Aug 23rd – Should I decide who deserves my love?
- In Matthew 5:43-48 and Romans 5:8-10, we see that God loved us even when we were His enemies. That’s not easy to grasp—but it’s exactly the kind of love our students need to experience and extend. This love isn’t a reward for good behavior; it’s a reflection of God’s heart.
- Aug 30th – Family Worship Service
